Job Description

A Head of Programme in Early Childhood Education is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing a specific Early Childhood Education (ECE) program. This individual leads the academic and administrative aspects of the program, ensuring its effectiveness and alignment with established goals and standards.

Job Description:

Teaching and Curriculum Development

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses (where applicable) as assigned by the Head of Programme (Early Childhood Education).
  • Contribute to the development, planning, and implementation of a high-quality Early Childhood Education curriculum.
  • Assist in the creation of learning materials, preparation of schemes of work, and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement, and attendance.

Course Materials Preparation

  • Develop comprehensive course materials, including lecture notes, slides, course guides, assessment questions, final examination papers, answer schemes, and JSU.
  • Source and integrate additional course-relevant materials such as video links and journal articles to support the curriculum.

Student Support and Engagement

  • Provide weekly classroom and/or online support, including lectures, tutorials, online facilitation, and consultation hours.
  • Utilize diverse forms of technology and hands-on approaches to enhance the student learning experience.
  • Provide appropriate academic counseling and support to students.

Assessment and Evaluation

  • Grade assessments and provide constructive written feedback to students.
  • Evaluate and grade final examination scripts.

Administrative Duties

  • Participate in meetings and discussions as required by the Head of Programme (Early Childhood Education).
  • Perform other academic and administrative duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and delivering online courses.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Passionate about Early Childhood Education and committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Master’s degree in Education or Early Childhood Education.
  • Candidates with experience and proficiency in online learning will be given preference.
