Job Description

  • To plan lessons and activities for the year based on a set curriculum
  • Work in an international school setting, which provides a comprehensive program to meet educational, emotional, social, health, nutritional, and psychological needs of children
  • Teach classes according to the curriculum guidelines
  • To act as a facilitators or coaches using fun learning, interactive discussions and hands-on learning to help students learn and apply concepts in subjects
  • Undertake tasks connected with the continuing development of the school’s curriculum.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to the development of critical and creative learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students
  • Manage student behaviour in conformity with the Student Code of Conduct and the Student Handbook
  • Plan and maintain a safe, clean, learning environment and ensuring the wellbeing and safety of the children in his/her care
  • Help students analyse and improve study methods and habits
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job related expertise
  • Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with students, parents, teachers and the Principals
  • Participate in staff meetings, training days, parent-teacher conference and school functions according to the published schedule
  • Keep records of student progress, and write reports as and when required
  • Undertake any other reasonable requests made by line manager

Job Requirements

  • Minimum a Bachelor in Chinese Language and Literature Degree, BA Chinese Studies or significant discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in International school syllabus is an added advantage
  • Practice in international education preferably in IB Programmes
  • Capability to instruct students and manage student behaviour
  • Capability to communicate with parents before and after school hours
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal expertise
  • Capability to adjust and be flexible to a multitude of situations in the school environment
  • Act as a positive function model for students
  • A keen learner and team player with positive working attitude
  • Able to work independently and multi-task
  • Love, passion & enjoy working with children
