SENIOR CNC MACHINIST

SUPERVISOR JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVES / SCOPE
Set up and operates CNC Machine to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts by performing the duties. Oversee work flow and daily activities for CNC work area. Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Set up manual and CNC equipment without supervision
Change cutting tools and adjust machine feed and speeds as needed.
Establish and ensure department standard for safety, quality and quantity are met.
Resolve problems by making decision to correct constraints.
Assist in equipment set up for “Level 1” CNC Machinist to help eliminate non-conformance and spindle down time.
Perform first part inspections
Identify root cause and corrective action for quality problems.
Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as callipers, micrometre, height gauge and other measuring equipment needed to complete work.
Utilize production work orders and documents.
Ensure all documentation is complete and correct.
Must be able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules.
Other Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Oversee training of “level 1” Machinist
Coordinate with Supervisor to address issues pertaining to employee grievances and misconduct.
Maintain equipment and work area on a daily basis in a clean and orderly condition.
Competencies, Experience, Abilities and Knowledge
Knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to callipers, ID and OD micrometers, Depth gages, Indicators and scale.
Strong understanding in blue print reading/geometric tolerancing interpretation.
Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixture, inserts and other accessories used on various machines. Interaction
