SENIOR LAWYER - CORPORATE LAW

Job Responsibilities:-

1. Provide expert legal advice and strategic guidance on corporate law matters, including mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, restructuring, and corporate governance.

2. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, shareholder agreements, and other legal documentation.

3. Conduct legal due diligence for corporate transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

4. Represent the company or clients in negotiations, dispute resolutions, and legal proceedings when required.

5. Advise on regulatory requirements and liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and external counsel.

6. Mentor, supervise, and provide guidance to junior lawyers and legal executives within the team.

7. Monitor legal developments, assess potential risks, and recommend proactive measures to protect business interests.

8. Ensure all corporate filings, licenses, and statutory obligations are met in a timely manner.

9. Report to top management and provide updates on legal matters based on an agreed timeline.

Job Requirements:-

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized university; a Master’s in Law or professional certifications will be an added advantage.

• Professional Qualification: Admitted to the Malaysian Bar (or equivalent jurisdiction).

• Experience: Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience, with strong exposure to corporate law and related areas.

• Skills & Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Companies Act, contract law, securities regulations, and other relevant legislation.

  • Proven experience in handling complex corporate transactions and negotiations.

  • Strong drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Leadership skills to guide junior team members and manage legal projects.
