Head of Program - School of Business & Lecturer

Job Description

1. Strategic Leadership and School Management

  • Develop and implement academic plans aligned with university-level strategies for the School of Business Technology.

  • Oversee overall School operations, including monitoring departmental teaching capacity and workload saturation.

  • Identify, justify, and recommend additional manpower or replacements based on workload analysis, staff resignations, or business growth.

  • Engage with and manage internal and external stakeholders to promote the School’s interests and reputation.

2. Academic Quality and Accreditation

  • Ensure all programmes comply with Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) standards and the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF).

  • Monitor faculty-to-course ratios to avoid teaching disruptions and maintain student satisfaction.

  • Lead continuous curriculum review and enhancement for Business Technology and Management programmes to ensure industry relevance.

  • Oversee the examination process, including moderation of examination questions, marking schemes, and submission of results.

3. Faculty and Research Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and support faculty members in teaching and academic responsibilities, including PhD supervision.

  • Promote a strong research culture to encourage peer-reviewed publications and secure internal and external research funding.

  • Monitor faculty performance to ensure timely submission of academic documentation such as subject outlines and student attendance records.

4. Administrative and Institutional Duties

  • Review and approve Manpower Requisition Forms (MRF) and other administrative documents, including lecturer claim forms.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, university committees, and institutional events as a representative of the School.

  • Ensure readiness for quality audits and external assessments within the School’s scope of responsibility.

5. General DutiesTeaching Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions.

  • Conduct academic research within the relevant field of expertise.

  • Publish research findings in journals, books, or conference proceedings.

  • Apply for research grants and funding opportunities.

  • Collaborate with other researchers, departments, or institutions.

  • Supervise postgraduate research students (Master’s and PhD levels).

  • Develop course materials, syllabi, and assessment instruments.

  • Evaluate and grade student assignments, examinations, and projects.

  • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.

  • Stay updated on curriculum developments and innovative teaching methodologies.
