Programme Manager

Job Description

The Programme Manager is responsible for the effective management and delivery of academic programmes within the School of Business & Management. The role ensures that programmes meet the University’s academic standards, policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and learning, academic quality assurance, student support, research and the continuous development of academic practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned academic programmes and programme accreditation processes.
  • Ensure programme design and delivery comply with the University’s quality standards, policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Take responsibility for quality assurance, academic audits and external assessments within the assigned area.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of academic processes.
  • Support the development and implementation of learning and teaching strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and requirements established by relevant industry and education regulators.

Teaching and Learning

  • Teach subjects relevant to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience.
  • Develop and apply innovative teaching methods and learning materials.
  • Create an engaging learning environment that promotes student interest, understanding and participation.
  • Contribute to research and academic or industry-related activities relevant to the School.

Student Experience and Support

  • Monitor students’ academic progress and provide appropriate guidance.
  • Advise and support personal tutors in addressing student-related matters.
  • Conduct student consultation and provide academic guidance.
  • Oversee support for students with special requirements or mitigating circumstances.
  • Assist students in accessing appropriate University support services.
  • Maintain a strong student-centred approach in programme delivery and administration.

Team and Administrative Management

  • Coordinate academic functions and programme-related activities.
  • Manage competing priorities within a busy academic environment.
  • Work collaboratively with academic staff and other departments to achieve programme and institutional objectives.
  • Maintain accurate academic and quality-related documentation.

Job Requirements

  • A postgraduate qualification from a recognised university in a relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the relevant academic or professional specialisation.
  • Good understanding of the higher education environment.
  • Experience in programme management, academic administration or a related function.
  • Experience in quality assurance and quality enhancement within a higher education environment.
  • Experience managing a team, academic function or multiple priorities.
  • Previous teaching experience in higher education is preferred.
  • Professional or industry recognition will be an added advantage.
