Job Purpose

Teaching and Supervising

Key Responsibilities& accountabilities
1. Teaching and Learning
• Deliver lectures and tutorials as scheduled, ensuring alignment with the 
approved syllabus in terms of content, relevance, venue, and timing.
• Prepare and provide teaching materials, lecture notes, and assessment 
briefs for assigned courses.
• Develop examination questions, marking schemes, and moderate 
assignments/exams; submit grades and results within the stipulated 
deadlines.
• Monitor and record student attendance, providing necessary academic 
support and consultations (including Final Year Projects).
• Serve as invigilator for examinations when assigned.
• Ensure student learning outcomes are achieved and documented in line 
with programme standards.


2. Curriculum and Quality Assurance
• Assist in curriculum development and continuous improvement 
processes.
• Ensure compliance with MQA/MQF requirements, accreditation 
standards, and institutional policies.
• Adhere to timelines for submission of subject outlines, notes, exam 
questions, results, and other academic documentation.


3. Supervision and Research Activities
• Supervise postgraduate research projects, including theses and 
dissertations.
• Conduct impactful research in relevant fields or other university focus 
areas.
• Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and present 
at national or international conferences.
• Seek and secure external/internal research funding.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external partners on interdisciplinary 
research projects.


4. Professional and Administrative Duties
• Complete required academic documentation, including lecturer claim 
forms, within deadlines.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and institutional 
events as required.
• Contribute to the school’s academic and community engagement 
initiatives.

Job Requirements

 PhD in Computing (AI) or a closely related field from an accredited 
institution.
• MUST have bachelor’s degree in computing
• Proven teaching experience at the university level, with the ability to 
communicate complex creative and technical concepts in an engaging and 
accessible manner.
• Demonstrated research expertise in AI, programming, software 
engineering, or computer science, with a solid record of publications in 
peer-reviewed journals or conferences.
• Technical Skill and Competency
a. Programming: Python (essential), Java, C++, SQL.
b. AI/ML Tools: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn, Jupyter 
Notebook/Google Colab.
c. Data Tools: NumPy, Pandas, Excel (advanced).
d. Productivity Tools: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
e. Teaching Platforms: Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, LMS 
(Moodle/Canvas/etc.).
f. Collaboration Tools: Git/GitHub, LaTeX/Overleaf.
g. Additional: Basic Linux command-line and cloud computing 
(Azure/AWS/Google Cloud).
• Experience in curriculum design, assessment development, and delivery in 
programming-related courses.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Malaysian education landscape
• Demonstrated ability to develop plans that put strategy into action to 
achieve desired outcomes.
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to interact and manage 
various stakeholders
