About the Organisation
Humans of Kuala Lumpur (HOKL) is an online platform primarily targeted for millennials, featuring real, intimate stories about humanity through storytelling, photography and videography as the medium to advocate social awareness and initiate social changes.
Founded in 2012, HOKL started off as a one-man show as Mushamir Mustafa went around Kuala Lumpur and talked to strangers he met off the streets. Armed with a camera and a recording app, he believed that there are many untold stories on ground. Since then, HOKL has published hundreds of stories, of which some have gone viral.
Today, HOKL consists of a team of volunteer storytellers who gather together on photo hunts and collect real stories from everyday Malaysians.
